Teton Takes

1️⃣ Pet Friendly Jackson

One of the questions I get most often from readers? Where to stay and eat in Jackson with your pup. Hope this roundup helps!

🐶 Dog‑Friendly Lodging

Jackson offers plenty of accommodations that treat dogs like VIPs (Very Important Pooches):

  • The Virginian Lodge – Welcomes two dogs of any size in designated rooms for around $50/night. Outdoor courtyard, communal fire pits, heated pool, and a mid‑century retro vibe just a mile from Town Square.

  • The Lodge at Jackson Hole – Pet‑friendly rooms (dogs up to 40 lbs, fee ~$50/night, cap ~$250) with indoor/outdoor pool, fitness center, and town shuttle access.

  • Snow King Resort Hotel & Luxury Residences – No breed or weight restrictions; $25/day for one dog, $35 for two. Note: pets restricted to hotel rooms only.

  • Anvil Hotel – Welcomes two dogs per stay (all sizes welcome) with a modest fee (~$75 per stay), plus pet bowls provided.

  • Wyoming Inn of Jackson Hole, Fireside Resort, Cloudveil (Autograph Collection) and Cowboy Village Resort, Elk Country Inn – highly recommended pet‑friendly hotels with superb reviews, varied styles, settings, and price points.

🍽️ Pet‑Friendly Restaurants & Cafés

Jackson has a vibrant food scene, many offering outdoor seating that warmly welcomes well‑behaved pups:

  • Café Genevieve – Known for a hearty breakfast and lunch, this downtown favorite welcomes leashed dogs on its outdoor patio.

  • Big Hole BBQ Jackson – A casual BBQ spot where dogs are welcome at the covered outdoor seating area. Great for meat lovers and dogs who enjoy people-watching.

  • Snake River Brewing Co. – Award‑winning brewpub with lawn and patio seating. Ideal for diners wanting craft beer alongside dog companionship.

  • Bin22 – Tapas and wine bar with pet-friendly outdoor areas. Fun vibe if you’re dining with your dog and a glass of vino at happy hour.

  • Additional dog‑friendly outdoor seating options with varied menus:

    • Cowboy Coffee Co.

    • Hatch Taqueria & Tequilas

    • Persephone Bakery

    • Moo’s Gourmet Ice Cream (offering pup cups)

    • D.O.G.

    • Healthy Being Café

    • Miazga’s

    • Sidewinders Tavern

    • Pica’s Mexican Taqueria

    • North Grille (Jackson Golf & Tennis)

🐕 Side note: If you live in Jackson, you know the dog grooming options are fairly limited and some will not accept new customers. If you want to start a business that will crush it in Jackson, mobile dog grooming is it!

2️⃣ Tattle Happy Hour Details

Things are starting to come together for our very first Teton Tattle Happy Hour!
Here’s what’s on tap (literally and figuratively):

📍 Where: Teton Village – exact location will be revealed next week. Stay tuned...

📅 When: First week of September – because nothing says “fall is coming” like a cocktail with mountain views.

🎉 What to Expect:

  • Cold drinks and great company

  • Cash prizes

  • Dinner gift certificates to local favorites

  • Teton-themed trivia (test your mountain IQ)

  • A very questionable game of “Pin the Tail on the Tetons”

  • …and a few surprises we’re not allowed to put in writing (yet)

Mark your calendars, wrangle your friends, and prepare for a good time with your fellow Jackson locals and Teton Tattle readers.

3️⃣ 5-Hour Drive For High School Football? Only in Wyoming.

This feels like it should be a classic “Philly guy moves to Jackson” moment—don’t worry, more of those are coming soon.

The second game of the Jackson Broncs football season? It’s in Douglas, Wyoming. A quick Google search tells me that's anywhere from 5.5 to 6.5 hours away—which, out here, is just considered “playing in the region.”

Back in Philly, if a team had to drive more than 45 minutes, someone’s mom would organize a protest and demand a chartered jet and a Wawa stop. But in Wyoming? That’s just called “Friday.”

So yeah, pack snacks, load up the playlist, and maybe book a chiropractor for Saturday morning. Broncs are hitting the road.

Originally a Philly guy who traded cheesesteaks for mountain views, I made the leap from the East Coast hustle to the wide-open skies of Jackson Hole.

Fueled by a love for good stories and great community, I launched the Teton Tattle newsletter to keep locals and visitors in the know — with a little wit and a lot of local flavor.

When I’m not chasing the next big scoop or a killer bear sighting, I run AntlersArch.com, your go-to spot for Jackson Hole news and life in the Tetons. It’s all about connecting people to this wild, wonderful corner of the world, one headline (and one laugh) at a time.
